The team at Alabama Orthopaedic Surgeons is excited to announce that beginning Monday, May 4, we will be back to our normal business hours (Monday – Thursday 8am – 5pm & Fridays 8am – 12pm). As we expand our hours and extend our full range of services to patients, we are committed to continuing to follow best practices for the health and wellbeing of our patients, our providers, and our staff.
We are following the City of Birmingham’s regulations and requiring that all visitors and patients wear a face covering to enter our clinic. The City of Birmingham ordinance requires that all individuals must wear a face mask/face covering when not in their home or vehicle.
Please be sure to bring your face covering when coming to your appointment as we will not be able to provide one for you.
The face coverings do not have to be hospital-grade, but they must cover the nose and mouth. Bandanas and fabric masks are fine, and we remind our patients and visitors to please wash these face coverings with detergent and hot water after they are worn.
Make sure the covering is comfortable on your face as you want to avoid having to adjust the mask, which means touching your face.
The CDC has also issued guidelines regarding face coverings. In order for masks to be most effective, they should:
- fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
- be secured with ties or ear loops
- include multiple layers of fabric
- allow for breathing without restriction
- be able to be laundered and machine dried without damage or change to shape
It is also recommended to always wash your hands or use hand sanitizer before AND after touching your face or face coverings.
As another safety measure, we will continue observing Social Distancing Guidelines, meaning that no more than 10 people may be in the waiting room at a time. which includes no more than 10 people in the waiting room at a time.
Our team of physicians is looking forward to helping you come back stronger than ever! Please call 205-838-4747 or click hereto request an appointment today.
