Dr. Kenneth Jaffe in action

Dr. Jaffe, a native of Birmingham, Alabama, is currently an orthopaedic surgeon with OrthoSports Associates.  He received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and completed his medical degree and residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  He was the Chief Resident in the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery between 1986 and 1987.  He then completed fellowships in orthopaedic oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital, and Harvard University, under Dr. Henry J. Mankin. He returned to the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2000 to get an MBA and graduated in 2003.

He has also served in the Department of Surgery, Division of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, first as an Assistant Professor (July 1988 – July 1996) and then as an Associate Professor (July 1996 – October 2000).

He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners, The International Society of Clinical Densitometry, and the National Board of Medical Examiners.

Dr. Jaffe specializes in General Orthopaedics, Adult Reconstruction, and Orthopedic Oncology.  He develops coordinated care plans including a regenerative medicine program using state of the art biological factors to improve musculoskeletal conditions.  Skilled in ultrasound injection techniques and Tenex procedures, Dr. Jaffe offers the highest level of care as he guides you through the complete process of rehabilitation, from diagnosis to treatment to physical therapy so you can return to your active lifestyle.

Professional memberships include the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons, International Skeletal Society, Musculoskeletal Tumor Society, and Southern Orthopaedic Association. I am also a reviewer for the Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research Journal, the American Journal of Orthopaedics, and the Journal of Surgical Orthopaedic Advances. Other professional activities include membership on the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Surgical Orthopaedic Advances and The American Journal of Orthopaedics as well as a committee member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Biological Implants from 1997 – 2003.
